Book:  Gardening All-in-One for Dummies by The National Garden Association (Author), Bob Beckstrom (Author), Karen Davis Cutler (Author), et al.

Gardening is also one of the most popular hobbies out there.  Gardening All-in-One for Dummies has remained to be one of the most popular books in the Dummies book franchise.  This book guides the reader through basic gardening skills which include understanding climates, using gardening tools, managing common plant diseases and how to deal with pests.  How to design a garden through effective planning, and building a beautiful garden landscape reflecting your own personal style.

This book also guides the user through selecting, planting and maintaining roses, how to build a raised bed for perennials and making them bloom in any climate, how to choose plants, grow, and maintain annuals.  How to effectively prune plants without hurting the plant,  plant fruits and vegetables, herbs, bulbs, roses, perennials, and so much more.

The only disadvantage I found in this book was just the one chapter on how to plant fruits, vegetables and herbs.  I felt they should’ve expanded more on that topic as there are many interested growers who want to have their own organic produce in their backyard.

The All-in-One Gardening book has a tear-out cheat sheet with tips and techniques.   This book is perfect for the newbie/beginner gardener interested in tapping into their inner green thumb.  It’s a user-friendly guide and encyclopedia making it a must have reference book.   I felt this book would give user more than enough information to get started.
