Book: Lasagna Gardening: A New Layering System for Bountiful Gardens: No Digging, No Tilling, No Weeding, No Kidding!
Author: Patricia Lanza
This book is a book with a unique title and I almost passed by it when I was in the library. I thought it was joke! However, as I flipped through the pages of this unique gardening book I learned I was wrong in how I viewed this book.
This book is described as a gardening system that truly works so that I don’t have to do the hard work involved in gardening. The author shows readers how to easily replace their shovels with layers of grass clippings, and exchanging a tiller for a stack of old newspapers. Keep in mind this book doesn’t anything to do with pasta let alone lasagna but it does have everything to do with the layering effect.
I felt that Lasagna Gardening: A New Layering System for Bountiful Gardens: No Digging, No Tilling, No Weeding, No Kidding! By Patricia Lanza encourages gardeners to take on a different look into how they garden and use organic materials creating a sense of a “green” atmosphere in basically using what we have around our homes to create a beautiful garden. I think the lasagna way of gardening is a very creative technique is a wise investment for any gardener to make. I like that there wasn’t any digging needed to use the lasagna technique and I wish I had discovered this earlier as it could have saved lots of time and energy.
